  • Showing your artwork in our shows is a privilege of your membership. Please follow these guidelines for preparing your works:
    - Clean the frame and glass
    - Cover/repair any major dings, scratches on frames
    - Use only securely fastened wire hangers.
    - Place a securely fastened label on the back of your artwork with your name, title, phone number, medium and price (available under FORMS)
    - NOTE THE SIZE REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH SHOW
    - Complete your entry form and a waiver (if you don’t have one on file) and bring when you deliver your artwork.
    - All artwork shown at RFAA Venues and Shows must be dry before it is submitted. No wet or tacky pieces can be accepted.
    - ALWAYS CHECK E-BLASTS AND FACEBOOK FOR MOST CURRENT DATES AND TIMES

  • There are many opportunities to sell art through RFAA. Along with our Gallery on Fouts, we have multiple external shows and venues. Some of our venues receive a commission for sales at their locations. RFAA takes a 10% commission at these sites.

    At our shows and for gallery sales, RFAA takes a 20% commission. The artist receives the remainder of the sale price. Sales at the Gallery are made by Gallery Sitters or the Artist.

    Gallery Sitter or Artist: If you make a sale, please fill out a sales tracking form and mail your 20% commission check to the Treasurer, P.O. Box 2084, Roswell GA 30077. NOTE: Commission percentages may vary based on the amount taken at a particular venue or show site.

    • Show works that are 3 years old or newer

    • Show only ORIGINAL works (no prints, giclees, or copies of others' works to insure you are not in violation of a copyright.)

    • Follow individual requirements in the Prospectus for special shows. Remember, in juried shows especially Double Vision, if the prospectus is not followed, artwork can be submitted but will not be eligible for ribbons and prizes.

    • PLEASE BE AWARE THAT all art displayed in a show must remain in the show until the take down date. Early withdrawal of a work will result in a 20% of sale price penalty payment for each work removed.

    • Artwork you submit should not have been shown before in the show you are entering.

    • You have signed up to gallery sit or have met your gallery sitting quota for the year.

  • You can find entry forms in each shows prospectus, or you can download a generic form on our Forms page

  • SIGN UP to Gallery sit (once for each time you bring art for a show. If you are showing your work, you are required to gallery sit at Art Center East, up to a maximum of four times per year but may volunteer more if you desire. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/

    There are four or five shows each year at our Gallery. Most have a reception to which your family, friends and guests, as well as the public are invited. Artists are encouraged to work in both abstract and realistic styles. If you would like to help with any show please contact the chair person to VOLUNTEER.

    JANUARY People, Places and Thingamabobs Juried Invitational Show. RFAA invites several of our sister art organizations to enter this show. Ribbons and prizes are offered. Reception. Chair: Sherry Hardage


    APRIL A Taste for Art Silent Auction and Wine Tasting. Artists set starting prices and bids are taken with works going to the highest bidder. Several wines and a charcuterie table are offered. Tickets are sold for this event. Chair: Sherry Hardage

    JUNE Wild Show This summer show always has a variation on the word Wild for its theme. Previous shows have included Wild at Heart, Wild and Wacky, and Walk on the Wild Side. Chair: Sherry Hardage


    SEPTEMBER Textured Surfaces Show. This fall show’s title and theme vary each year. Ordinary to Extraordinary, Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Seeing Red are some of the previous themes. Chair: Sherry Hardage


    DECEMBER Joys of the Seasons Show. This show features smaller, gift sized artwork that reflects each artist’s recollections of the four seasons. The reception for this show is also our Holiday Party. Chair: Sherry Hardage

  • Showing at other sites helps our artists to have a wider audience for their work and calls the attention of the public to our group. We encourage our artists to take advantage of these opportunities. WATCH FOR DETAILS IN E-BLASTS WITH PLENTY OF TIME FOR PREPARATION.


    JANUARY -- North Fulton Invitational High School Art Show –at the Roswell Visual Art Center in Roswell Park, Woodstock Road, Roswell, GA. This show helps fulfill our commitment to community service and gives young artists a chance to show their work and win ribbons and cash awards. We strongly encourage our members to support these gifted young artists. Chair: Betty Walser

    APRIL -- Roswell City Hall Show– on the main floor and second floor at 38 Hill Street, Roswell GA. The members’ artworks from our People, Places and Thingamabobs Show is transported to City Hall for this show. Chair: Betty Walser


    MAY – Wired Members’ Show – at Roswell Adult Recreation Center, 830 Grimes Bridge Rd, Roswell, GA 30075. This is a non-juried selling opportunity for our members. When works sell, the artist can replace them with similar works. Reception. Chair: Jan Buckley


    SEPTEMBER -- Nature: Double Vision – at the Chatthoochee Nature Center 9135 Willeo Rd., Roswell GA. This show is a joint show by the Georgia Nature Photographers Association and RFAA. It is one of the most popular shows we offer. RFAA artists paint from the photos of GNPA and the works are hung side by side. Entries are juried separately by a photography judge and an art judge and ribbons and cash prizes are awarded. Reception. Chair: Sherry Hardage Co-chair: Arlyn Huntzicker


    OCTOBER -- Genesis Juried Members' Show – at Synovus Bank, Alpharetta Highway at Holcomb Bridge, Roswell, GA. This is RFAA’s longest running and always popular premier show. It is juried and offers ribbons and prizes. Reception. Chair: Mary Akers Co-chair: Jan Buckley

  • RFAA is very fortunate to have several venues where we display and sell our art. These guidelines will insure a happy and profitable relationship between you and our venue owners.

    Please note how sales are conducted at each venue and adhere to our guidelines.


    To Prepare to Show at a Venue:
    Check the Venue Calendar for dates and themes.

    Change outs occur approximately every three to four months
    Carefully read the requirements for the venue you wish to enter
    Permanently write your name, title of the work, medium, and your phone number on the back of each work you submit (back of artwork cards available under FORMS)
    Use a wire hanger with the wire loose enough to allow some give but not show above the work (NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS ACCEPTED)
    Complete an Entry Form and bring with you (see FORMS ABOVE)
    If you have not signed a UNIVERSAL WAIVER FORM, print from FORMS and bring with you.

    IF YOU SELL A PAINTING in a venue directly (buyer calls you) please have the check for the sale made out to: Roswell Fine Arts Alliance and mail it along with a Sales Tracking Form (see FORMS above) to ATTN: Treasurer, P.O. Box 2084, Roswell, GA 30077. RFAA’s Treasurer will deduct 20% commission and return a check to you for the balance.
    Complete a SALES TRACKING FORM at the time you make the sale and include with your check. (Available under FORMS above)

    Chattahoochee Nature Center: Venue Address 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell GA 30075 – two sizes of art are accepted depending on which quarter we are showing. Large art (16 x 20 to 18 x 24) is accepted for our wall shows on alternating quarters and small art (16 x 20 or smaller) is accepted for our grids during all sessions. No glass is permitted but Plexiglas is okay. Wire hangers only – use loose wire positioned 1/3 from top edge of frame. Sales are made by the staff in the CNC Gift Shop, monthly check sent to RFAA treasurer who will send check minus 20% commission to artist. Themes: nature related and plein air.     East Roswell Library: Venue Address 2301 Holcomb Bridge Road Roswell, GA 30076 – small paintings (11 x 14 and 8 x 10) relating to children will be accepted at quarterly change-outs to be displayed in the children’s area of the library. Note: Plexiglass only. Sales: Client contacts individual artist to purchase. (see directions above) Themes: see Venue Calendar.     Roswell Main Library: Venue Address 115 Norcross Street, Roswell. Artwork is collected on Sundays from 2:30 to 4:30, hung on the next Monday from 10:00 to 11:30. Artwork from the previous show collected on Monday during hanging or on Tuesday at 10:00 am. Themes vary from show to show (see calendar for current theme) Buyer will contact the artist directly.     Roswell Farmers’ Market
    A popular local shopping event is the Roswell Farmers’ Market held every Saturday morning, 7:30AM to noon, April through early November in the parking lot at Roswell Presbyterian Church. RFAA has a booth each Saturday where members can bring art to sell and perhaps do some plein air painting on the side.   • CNC Butterfly Festival
    Held the first week of June, this extremely popular event features RFAA artists plein air painting with a model. We are located next to the Butterfly Encounter tent. We create original 2 ½ by 3” “Butterfly Cards” and hand them out to visitors who often collect them from year to year. Chair: Sherry Hardage


    City of Roswell Art in the Square
    Held in September on the Roswell Square, RFAA is invited to have a tent for selling our art. In return we man the Community Painting tent set up next to ours, where visitors come and add their strokes to a huge painting that will be displayed in City Hall. Chair: Susan Ritchie


    Boo Y’all Scarecrow Contest
    Set up on Canton Street in Roswell for the entire month of October, these creative scarecrows draw hundreds of people. RFAA members create an art themed scarecrow display. Members are asked to submit their design ideas and the Board votes on which design to create. Chair: Lucy Letchford
