Facebook followers, be sure to connect to the RFAA page to find exciting on-line challenges! A theme is given; past themes have included ducks, self-portraits, lights, and a desert scene. This ac-tivity is totally optional, and you may enter one or two (no more, please) of your pieces directly onto the site. It is delightful to see the interpretations and styles of fellow members!
Roswell Farmers’ Market
A popular local shopping event is the Roswell Farmers’ Market held every Saturday morning, 7:30AM to noon, April through early November in the parking lot at City Hall. RFAA has a booth every first and third Saturday where members can bring art to sell and perhaps do some plein air painting on the side. Contact lead Hubert Jones at 404-316-1033 for more information.
DIRECTIONS: From 400 travel East on Holcomb Bridge Road to Fouts Road. Turn right at the East Roswell Library and proceed to the stop sign. The Art Center is the brown building on the right.
Meetings are held at the Art Center on Fouts on the third Tuesday of each month except June, August and December, at 7:00pm. Special events are held in those three months. Meetings include a brief business portion followed by artist demonstrations, presentations and other art related activities. (For additional details see JOIN US)
*Should there be inclement weather follow the closing of Fulton County schools. If they are closed, RFAA will also be closed.
Every six weeks, members will be able to bring one or two paintings per session to share. In a positive supportive environment they will receive constructive suggestions for strengthening weak areas and taking their paintings to the next level. Facilitation will rotate through the group’s members. This activity will be helpful to all levels from beginners to advanced. See the Calendar for dates. All sessions run from 1:00 to 4:00 on Saturdays. Be sure and check the website Calendar for exceptions.
Guerrilla Workshops are free, down and dirty three hour sessions open to members who volunteer to gallery sit each quarter. Watch the Calendar for additional Open Studio time in the evening during the week when the Gallery is closed.

The week prior to our Juried High School Art Show, volunteer members gather at the Roswell Visual Arts Center (RVAC) to cut mats and mount the work of the talented student artists from public North Fulton County high schools in preparation for the reception and show that takes place in late January each year. This show is juried by a respected art educator/artist and ribbons and cash prizes are awarded.
In February, RFAA celebrates our membership with an annual festive themed luncheon. Besides plenty of tasty food, it's an opportunity to visit with old friends and make some new ones while hearing what's going on in our local art community.
In August, current members welcome all of our new members with a brunch held at the Art Center on Fouts Road. Seasoned members provide “newbies" with lots of helpful information including how to properly prepare art for shows, appropriate pricing, copyright information, and framing tips. This is also a great opportunity for new members to make like-minded friends and learn where they can volunteer their gifts and talents at RFAA.
In December, members gather and enjoy hors d'oeuvres, wine and great conversation. It is a time to reflect upon another busy year of art making and friendship.
