Open Studio is held on Fridays and Saturdays during Open Gallery hours. (Fri. 10:00 - 1:00 and Sat. 10:00 - 4:00). Bring your art supplies when you Gallery Sit and invite fellow members for some creative independent studio time while you help maintain our open gallery. Watch the Calendar for additional Open Studio time in the evening during the week when the Gallery is closed.
All quarterly Gallery Sitters are eligible for free Guerrilla Workshops which are offered once a Quarter and are taught by RFAA instructors. Classes cover a variety of genres and are short (three hours) and richly informative. Sign-up is required. See Newsletter for details.
As part of RFAA’s partnership with the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC), our “Artists in the Wild” plein air group paints at the CNC on Tuesdays during spring and summer months from 10:00 to 1:00. Check the calendar for current dates. Members paint free, guests will pay the regular admittance fee to the CNC. Our members wear turquoise so that visitors can spot us. We welcome additions to our group. Contact: email@example.com for more information and to sign up.
The week prior to our Juried High School Art Show, volunteer members gather at the Roswell Visual Arts Center (RVAC) to cut mats and mount the work of the talented student artists from public North Fulton County high schools in preparation for the reception and show that takes place in late January each year. This show is juried by a respected art educator/artist and ribbons and cash prizes are awarded.
In June, RFAA celebrates our membership with an annual festive spring luncheon at one of our venue restaurants. Besides plenty of tasty food, it's an opportunity to visit with old friends and make some new ones while hearing what's going on in our local art community
In August, current members welcome all of our new members with a brunch held at the Art Center on Fouts Road. Seasoned members provide “newbies" with lots of helpful information including how to properly prepare art for shows, appropriate pricing, copyright information, and framing tips. This is also a great opportunity for new members to make like-minded friends and learn where they can volunteer their gifts and talents at RFAA.
In December, members gather and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine and great conversation. It is a time to reflect upon another busy year of art making and friendship.
